U.S. Open champ, Geoff Ogilvy, once stated "we are not working on our game, we are working on ourselves." This cutting edge book addresses how to specifically build mental toughness, how low expectations help our performance, why suffering is needed in practice, the don'ts of mental toughness, and why golf is like railroad tracks.
Testimonials include:
“The practice ideas and tournament mental processes that Dr. Rob Bell reveals in this book are incredibly valuable to a player, coach, or parent. A "must read,” for anyone looking to develop mental toughness.” –Randy Wylie- Golf Digest “Best Teachers in State”
" Mental Toughness Training for Golf is an excellent resource for coaches and players of all levels. Mental toughness is the final frontier of coaching our sport." -O.D. Vincent- 1999 National Coach of the Year
" Dr. Rob has developed a road map for success. He is very insightful about what it takes for every player to reach their full potential." -Mark Guhne- Three Time Southern Conference Coach of the Year

Things are coming together. He played so well today. After his road he even got wisked away by the golf channel. It's all pretty exciting.
It's great to see him finally playing the way everyone knows that he can.

Day 4, hole 17
It's a great morning for golf! Today the speed of play is very different...different in a good way!
We had a great sunrise service this morning but sadly due to the early tee times not many players could attend. Still, for me, it was a great way to start the day.
We are headed to Raleigh tonight so we can sleep in tomorrow. We are excited about Scott's game and all the pieces falling into place. Josh will also be part of the team next week as well. They have been working really well together. It's exciting!
After Raleigh we will be back in Knoxville for the week. Then we head to Maryland and we will both participate in several projects helping Andrews Airforce Base.

Scott told me this story after his round today. I hope I get all of the information straight but if not, I am so sorry.
While warming up this morning Scott's proam partner, Ken, asked to take one of his balls out of his bag to show his son. Scott of course agreed. Ken showed his son and came back to tell him this story...
Ken said that he was married to the greatest woman in the world for 28 years and 2 1/2 years ago she lost the battle with colon cancer. Ken's wife went for her yearly exam and was given three months to live. During that time she started a newsletter. Her goal was to show people that God could show himself through tough situations. After ever letter they signed with the verse, Phil 4:13, 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'
Today, Ken told Scott that he knew that he was playing with him for a reason.
Ken and his wife's newsletter ended up reaching over 100,000 people before she ended her 26 month battle.
Ken said that he knew yesterday that he was suppose to play with Scott and that Scott would be an encouragement to him.
What do you say to that? Scott said that he had to run to the bathroom to fight off the tears. He also told Josh, his caddy, that they will win this week for Ken.

Day 2, hole 7
Thankfully there is improvement with the group today! Either the one guy found his game in his sleep or shook off his nerves.
It's unbelievably hot and humid up here in the NC mountains.

Day 1...complete
Pretty good round especially for not playing a practice round, due to US Open.
Excited for more golf tomorrow and a new course. Dinner with the famous Dr. Rob Bell right now and checking out his new book, Mental Toughness: training for golf, to be released next week!

Day 1, hole 13....still watching
I have a serious question... Why don't they screen these people before they are aloud to play? I'm sure they are nice people and my heart breaks for them BUT...
How many shots does it really take to get the ball in the hole before it's embarrassing?150+? We're getting close.
And, how many people can you nearly kill before you get a clue?
I do feel bad for the guy...maybe tomorrow will be better.

Day 1, hole 3.....ugh
Today will be a very, very long day.
This is a really fun event though! It's been fun to oooo and awe over some of the celebrities. I didn't recognize many names but a lot of faces. This morning I ran into a very pregnant star from Army Wives, Kurt Russell, and Kate Hudson's very attractive brother. Other people playing include a star from Criminal Minds (which I am a very big fan of!), the cute Rascal Flatt, several pro athletes including Jerry Rice who is making his second Nationwide appearance, the Clemson coach, an OC star, a fella from Rules of Engagement, several musicians, some guy from Lost, and a few more.
Another person of interest is Scott's new caddy Josh. So far so good. I think Scott is in love with him!
More updates to come over these next loooong few days!

BMW proam
Scott left for Greenville,SC this morning. He has to play three practice rounds for this event. The other strange thing with this week is that Scott has to come back home Tuesday night. On Wednesday he has to play his US Open local qualifying at Holston Hills. We will leave right after to head back to SC for the Nationwide event.
The BMW is a strange event. I don't know a lot about it except that the rounds will about close to seven hours long! Ugh. There will also be a cut after Saturday this week, instead of the usual Friday.
Scott will also be trying out a new caddy this week.

Aww... There is no place like home. We have lived in our condo for three years now. Every spring/summer at some point we get home from traveling to find that one of our two AC units aren't working correctly. This trip home was no different! I can now thankfully say that it is a nice cool 70 degrees upstairs instead of the 85 it was earlier today.
Thankfully it was fixed just in time for the boys to arrive home. This week we have Martin Piller and his caddy Russ staying with us. I'm glad they didn't have to expierence the heat! Scott has planned multiple golf trips for them week. Yesterday and today they played two courses in North Carolina. Tomorrow, they are going to Chattanooga to play the Honors Course and then head to Bowling Green to play Old Stone on Thursday. The guys are excited to also be meeting their buddy, Josh Teater, in KY.
I'm sure these next few days will be full of gambling, taking lots of smack, and plenty of testostrone. Thank goodness I'm staying HOME!
