I think we may have discovered Scott's new biggest fan, our nephew Pete! Not only did Pete watch a lot of the US Open but he continually cheered for his Uncle Soc no matter if he was black, white, or Asian. Yesterday, Pete got to see his Uncle Sox for the first time in awhile and it was the cutest thing I've ever seen.... These videos aren't the best but still cute.
Disclaimer: we do no have children. Pete is only our nephew. Scott was asked last week in Mexico why we never travel with our kid?!

Thankfully, Scott made it how yesterday afternoon. I was so happy to see him and almost thrilled when his clubs didn't arrive with him. We figured that they were stolen in Mexico.
When he got home yesterday we continued the never ending battle of finding golf pants that fit..... So... after waking up at 3am and flying most of the day, Scott decided he wanted to go to the outlets to find pants. Not really something I would have wanted to do but whatever. I think we ended up leaving there with about 10 pairs from various companies and he is planning on getting some seamstress advice about them from my mother. Hopefully the battle with the pants just ended but we shall see....
We came home and had dinner and I made this dessert (like many of you know they key to Scott's heart is dessert!) And... ugh... the clubs finally arrive at our house.... a little after 8:30.
Now, Scott's off getting his ears lowered because he came home from Mexico with a helmet on his head.

Sit back and RELAX.
Unfortunately this wasn't our week... that happens.
Scott flies home on Sunday.
We have next week home before everything gets really crazy with six straight weeks.
We are excited to have a full week with our friends and family full of practice but also with a lot of fun. Scott will have plenty of golf the rest of the year... I'm hoping he'll really rest up this week.
I'll take some pictures this week of fun stuff that we do! :)
Check back soon!

Up up and AWAY!
Scott's in the air to Mexico right now. He'll ne in Leon which is two hours outside of Mexico City. I'm praying that the tour has security set up like in the previous events down there...
Also, our newsletter is available and I know people have had a hard time opening it. Email scott@stallingsgolf.com for a copy. I obviously can't figure out how to attach it to the blog. Sorry!

John Daly who?
Who said Fort Smith wasn't going to be fun? We have a very entertaining week ahead of us and not to mention a wonderful host family. The Fort Smith Classic has many different events planned this week including a concert by John Daly (who could pass that up?! HA!), Pink on the Links, a wives day(!!!), Charlie Daniels concert, plus much more. Sounds fun, right!?! Not to mention that they have Braums ice cream in this part of the country which makes everything better!!
Tee times this week are 12:55 on Thursday and 7:55 on Friday. They happen to be ideal for this week! It's hot, hot, hot down here's but it is going to be a great week!
P.S. Josh and I are hoping Scott gets paired with Daly. It would be interesting to see one of the longest guys then play with the longest guys now!
*We were also told that Scott is the longest hitter in the world right now on any published tour (PGA, European, Australasian, LPGA, etc)*

Toning Shoes: update
I know it has been a while since I have written about my New Balance rock n' tone shoes.
So far I have only worn them for one week of golf. I had hoped that during that week my legs would be sore and aching. That never happened. After three days they were more tired but no soreness. I did notice a huge difference in my usual back pain, there was none! If they don't tone, I'd wear them for the pain relief. Also, the shoes are suprisingly uber tcomfortable.
Last night I did my first work out in the shoes (I had planned to just wear them on the course but laziness led to working out in them). Last night I noticed my legs tired but not sore. This morning... my calves are SORE! Maybe I'm not a chump after all. So maybe they do work?!
The next weeks and months will tell how much toning effect they truly have. For now, I will not give up hope! :)

Spent the afternoon visiting the Nike employee store. The Stallings crew likes their shoes!! :)
Dinner tonight at the Rendezvous for some Memphis BBQ.

What's NEXT?
Tonight Scott will be flying to Memphis for his US Open qualifying tomorrow. He will be playing 36 holes at Ridgeway and Germantown Country Club against 150 players. We believe they will be taking between 15-20 guys from that location. I'll post news as soon as we have news.
I will drive the car home tonight and wait for news Monday.
Depending on the outcome determs if I will be going to Memphis or not (hoping not). The next Nationwide event is in Fort Smith, AR. We will either be there or Pebble Beach.... We shall see!

Toning Shoes
Day 1:
For those of you who know me know that I am a shoe girl. I won't give a number on the amount of shoes that I own but any girl (or in Scott's case, boy) knows shoes are important. Lets be honest, my dad will tell you I have a full closet of shoes STILL at his house. I choose not to confirm or deny that fact.
Ok... to the point. When the toning shoes came on the market I was awfully curious. I'm a reasonable person and stayed away from the $200+ MBT brand and I found that the Sketchers did not quite fit my....personality. The Reebok I just plain didnt like. Therefore, I choose the newest model on the block, New Balance.
Now, I will be the first to admit if I was a chump and these shoes are strictly a gimic. My hope is after the round today m legs will be very tired and possible fairly sore. Therefore, I would not be another poor sap that fell for the ingenious marketing ploy. We shall see...
