Palm Desert is the strangest place we have ever been. I really don't understand why people live here...
It feels like there is something that goes on here or happened here that people just don't talk about. I kinda feel like we are in the twilight zone.
Has anyone been here before? Any thoughts? Dad, did you do secret covert missions here?

Palm Desert 2
Tuesday, September 28, 2010
This picture is kinda hard to see but it is our gps showing us the road to take. Yesterday, Keri (scott's coach's wife) and I drove to Palm Desert from San Diego while the boys were at Titleist.
Keri and I had one heck of an adventure!!! We drove straight through the mountains on the scenic route (thanks to Garmin... note the sarcasm). We felt like we were in the twilight zone!
Regardless... We made it to Palm Desert and the boys had a BLAST at Titleist. Not to mention that Scotty Cameron also made a putter for Brad, Scott's coach, as well. He was pretty pumped!

We are having such a wonderful week off!! We are in Mill Valley, CA an absolutely loving it. We have some amazing family here.
Scott has some BNET obligations this week and one of them was today. He played Olympic Club in SanFran with BNET people as well as people that they work with (I believe that there were some people from HP, don't quote me). I can only imagine how much of a blast that was! He's so good at the corporate stuff that I know it was a great day.
I hung out with my fabulous cousins and had such a great time. We are so happy that we will be spending more time on the West Coast!! We like to refer to this as our West House home (and we've almost spent more time here this year already!!).
We are so, so blessed to have wonderful family!

Sunday
This morning we decided to try Goldy's which had some pretty incredible reviews on yelp.com. Goldy's is right smack in the middle of downtown. We even waited 1.5 hours for this place.
Brunch was great! Yelp never let's us down.
We are hiking this afternoon, packing and flying out in the morning. Next week Scott is NOT playing in Midland, TX. We are going to San Francisco, CA.
Scott's next event will be in two weeks in Southern CA for the first million dollar purse of the year. It's time to rest up and prepare for that. After next week Scott will be playing until Halloween.
Sorry for the post delays. Ive been having issues with the app on my phone!

My goof...
This week I had my first ever housing goof. Basically, I thought the tournament never contacted us, we pricelined a hotel, paid in full. Turns out... I spoke with the family we were suppose to stay with back in July and I 100% forgot. Way to go Jen.
To make everything worse... We have received several comments about us being 'too good' for housing here. Unfortunately it was just an honest mistake. I speak/email with so many families throughout the year and I let this week fall through the cracks. I'm sorry and it was an accident... Nothing more.
Obviously, this week we are in a hotel. It's nice every and then to be in a hotel (but thankfully it's not too often). We are really close to downtown, the golf course, and the greenway runs right through the property. It's pretty great! Scott's playing in a ProAm today and then to bed early for us! He has an 8:10 tee time on Thursday. At least this week I don't have to get up early by myself on Thursday!! :)

I recently came across this video that someone put together (i think for a possible reality series...). Anyone want to know what mini tour golf is like? Check out this video!
I got a call from my father today and he was bummed that there haven't been any new posts today. I'll try to get better! :) love you dad.

Welcome to Boise!
We made it to Boise and we are excited to see what this week holds!!
Thankfully our rental car doesn't sound like the wheels are going to fall off.
We are looking forward to a great week!
We're praying for all our friends going through Pre Qualifying School this week! Good luck!

First, we are super happy for our friends the Putnams!! Michael won today in Utah!!
Second, we are really sad to leave our host family. The Murphys have been so great! We have been so blessed by them this week.
Next, we are going on a detox next week in Boise. We have had so much good food but it is time to step away from the table. We'll be hoteling it next week and possibly going back to the Subway challenge (2nd annual, if so)?!?
Finally, we are having a blast! We are blessed and happy (even if we are fat and happy). We would not change our experiences for anything! It's hard to believe that this our life!

Final day
Today is the final day here and Utah and our last day here. Scott plays at 9:26.
We have had such a wonderful time here. This has been our favorite place this year, other than New Zealand. Utah is unbelievably beautiful.
Scott is quite frustrated with his game but pushing through. He knows he's doing and working on the right things but not getting the results he expects. Hopefully soon he will.
We leave tomorrow for Boise, Idaho.

Guest Author....
its been a while since I have written on here, so I figured that I would take a sec and write up a quick post. Things have been pretty busy lately. We have been traveling all over the place and playing a lot of golf. Its pretty easy with our lifestyle to get caught up in what we and we alone are doing without much care with what is going on outside our own little bubble. Well a big dose of reality came and knocked me down. Last saturday, one of my closest friends in the world and college mentor went to be with the Lord. It was all of sudden which left everyone around him in complete shock, including myself. The first word out of my mouth was, perspective. I had just gotten off the course when I had heard the news. my round that day was the worst of the year which left me super frustrated. All of those feelings left in an instant as soon as Jen told me about my friend. Its tough that it takes some sort of loss to make you realize how self centered you can get but to be honest, I say that it happens without even thinking about it.
Im not 100% sure where this is going but I guess my point is that, life is precious and that tomorrow is not promised and that I need to do a better job at seeing the world around me instead of focusing on only myself. Jonathan Scales was a great man and an incredible friend. I will miss him everyday. Thanks Jo for helping me be a better man.

Hill Air Force Base
Today three golfers (Scott, Will Mcgirt, and John Kimball) spent the day playing golf with active and retired soldiers.
Scott played with the retired General. Who in turn got us a tour of the plane sections.... hangers... I guess. Unfortunately I was not aloud to take pictures, go figure. We saw F16, F22, A10, C130, and a. Thunderbird. Pretty cool.
We are now headed back to the tournament site where all of the boys will play in another ProAm tomorrow.
Yep. That was our day.

These aren't Tennessee Mountains
Today is our first full day in Salt Lake. Scott and several other players are playing in a ProAm this afternoon at Hill Air Force Base. He woke up early to practice out at the tournament course, Willow Creek.
He will be playing in a ProAm at Willow Creek tomorrow. Thankfully we spend most of our time in host families because there are bed bugs going around the hotels! I know several people who have encountered problems.... Yuck!
