Offically the Season begins...

Tomorrow morning we will begin the journey of the 2009 season. The first Hooters event will begin this upcoming week in Amelia Island, Fl. So, tomorrow morning at 0400 Scott, Clay for Cubs, and I will begin the journey of many hours in the car. On our way to Amelia Island we will yet again stop in Sea Island, GA for one more lesson with Mike Taylor.

We are excited to be adding to the Toaster (our car) Clay for Cubs. Clay Duerson is caddying for Scott this week and is from Lexington, KY. We came into contact with him through a mutual friend. I have really good feelings about him and I really hope that he and Scott hit it off. Hopefully we will see more of him as the season goes on.

I will post a link as the week goes on of the leader board for this event. Scott and I have been really excited to hear how many people are reading our blog! I guess it's not only my parents after all!

heading north...not such a good idea

We have been in the car FOREVER and we still have four hours to go. Our first trip away was very successful. I can honestly say that I've never seen Scott putt as well as he is now. Sea island really seems to have made a huge difference for him. Scott finished 3rd in his first event of the year and seems quite pleased with that after not playing tournament golf in four months. We are currently going through cold weather shock and have been very tempted to turn the car around and head back south.

Rock Springs Ridge

Scott starts his first event of the year tomorrow. He is playing in a Winter Series Event at Rock Springs Ridge. Tomorrow the tour should post a link to their homepage (http://www.ngatour.com/) with the results.

Housing 2009

With the season quickly approaching I cannot help but begin thinking about the current economic situation. This year we are trying our very best to save as much money as we can. I am hoping that those who look at our blog (if anyone actually does besides my parents) can help us find housing. In my very first post I have included our schedule for the year. Many of the events we know of people in the area but there are still some that we do not. If anyone knows of anyone in the areas below that we could stay with please, please, please let us know. We are so blessed by each of you! Thanks again and have a great day. -Jen

The SUN is SHINING!!

This week we are in one of our favorite places to go... DESTIN! This is the second year in a row we've started the season off down here and we love it. The weather is great (70s everyday!) and Scott is able to play at lots of different places. We are very blessed to be able to stay where we are and do the things that we do. Besides all of the golf business... we are only a couple blocks from the beach! Could life get much better than this? :)

Sea Island, GA

This week we have been in Sea Island, Ga. We came to meet with an agent as well as an instructor. Scott has been practicing all day, everyday since we arrived. He really enjoyed working with Mike Taylor and says that it has been very helpful.

Yesterday I went out with Scott to see the Seaside course. He said that I had to see it before we left. It was gorgeous and of course I couldn't go without my camera... haha

Today Scott is getting another lesson and working with his Titleist rep on some club fittings.

Tomorrow we are leaving here and going to Destin, FL for two weeks. After that Scott is playing in a Hooters, Winter Series event in Orlando. We will head back to Knoxville late on the 19th.
