Clinics...
Yesterday Scott participated in a clinic for disabled veterans at Fort Gordon. Scott said that all of the players (I think there were 4 guys helping out, including Scott) really enjoyed the experience that they had with these soldiers. He also said that this experience impacted the players more than it impacted the servicemen. They were all very thankful to give up a few hours of their day to help these guys who are giving up their lives for all of us daily. Scott said that this was by far the highlight of his year.

Silver Star Golf and Casino Tournament
Scott tees it up tomorrow on the Hooters Tour at 1236 central time and 0736 on Friday.
Dancing Rabbit is a great course and very beautiful. Scott says that the course is in good shape and you have to drive it well out there. This week he says that will be very mental because it is not a course that you can go "scrape" it around (his words, not mine).

the Challenge. Sad but true.
This week we are in Choctaw, MS. There is not a whole lot going on here... except gambling. Due to our increased boredom of being on the road of the sixth week we have decided to challenge ourselves. This week we are embarking on the Subway Challenge. We plan to eat Subway for lunch and dinner, the whole week(7 days, 14 meals).
As many of you know and have heard us complain, eating out is by far one of the hardest parts of this lifestyle. As the venues change from week to week, the food does not. Every place has a Chilis, Olive Garden, Chick fil A, Subway, etc. Eating out gets old... especially in towns where the food options are limited, such as Choctaw, MS.
Choctaw, MS is not what I would consider the food capital of the world. Our only dining options this week are Wendys, McDonalds, Taco Bell, some sketchy Mexican joint, Subway and Krystals. Last year we were so desperate for food options that we thought of my brother and embarked on Krystals. I have been known to eat my fair share of junk food, as well as my husband, but that was too much for us! This week to avoid that, we are going with the Subway Challenge.
What makes this challenge even better is that Subway is having their current Scrabble promotion. We have already recieved 3 free drinks, 2 free cookies (my personal favorite), 1 free bag of chips, and a six inch sub. So far, not too bad. We will see what else we have won by the end of the 14th meal!. ha

News
After his round today, Scott was interviewed about life on the road. A links to the video interview as well as the written one are posted below. Please note that the interview did not get several facts correct. We found it quite humorous.

Uh Oh...
Today, Scott unfortunately received a two stroke penalty during his round. To make a long story short... Scott got in a fight with one of the guys in his group.
Well... not really but it would have made for a much, much better story. On their second shot on a par 5 (#16), all three guys missed the green to the right. Scott was the last player to reach the balls and was told his ball was in the pine straw. He checked his ball and saw his black line and Titleist(the rest was buried in the pine straw). Then, he hit what he thought was his ball. After he hit his third shot he realized that it was not his ball after all. Once he realized what had happened, he told the other guys and gave himself the two stroke penalty. Scott's actual ball was further up but hidden in the grass. He went on the par the whole but with his penalty was given a 7.
He was very frustrated, to say the least. This was the first time that this has ever happened to him in all of his golfing career. I'm sure this happens to every golfer at some point. It had happened to the other two guys in our group. We are just thankful that this mistake happened here and not during QSchool. We are also glad it happened during the first round because there are a lot of golf holes yet to be played!
On a more exciting note... he chipped in on 18 to make an eagle! Talk about perseverance! Thanks Rob! (Check out Rob's website on the right toolbar)
